In Plain Language

We collect only what we need to bring you food — your name, phone, address, and household details. We use it solely to schedule and confirm your distributions. We never sell your information. We never share it for advertising. We never give it away. Period.

1. Information We Collect

When you register with the Clermont Food Pantry (the “Pantry,” “we,” or “our”) — whether through our website, by phone, or in person — we collect the following information to serve you:

We do not collect Social Security numbers, financial account information, immigration status, or income documentation.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used only for these purposes:

3. SMS & Phone Communications

By calling our voice line at +1 (352) 723-5685 and completing a verbal RSVP, or by opting in on our website, you consent to receive SMS messages about our food-assistance program at the phone number you provide. These may include distribution confirmations, RSVP and pre-distribution reminders, day-of pickup or delivery notices, periodic eligibility and contact verification requests, and occasional program updates — up to 4 messages per month.

Our SMS program is operated through Twilio, a U.S.-based, A2P 10DLC-compliant messaging provider. We do not share your phone number with Twilio for any purpose other than delivering messages you have requested.

You can stop SMS at any time by replying STOP to any message. You can request help by replying HELP.

Standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply. We do not charge any fee for our SMS service.

4. Information Sharing

Our pledge: your information stays with the Pantry.

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not share it for marketing purposes. We do not trade or rent contact lists.

Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

The narrowly limited circumstances in which we may share information are:

5. Data Security

We protect your information using industry-standard safeguards: encrypted database storage (Supabase, AES-256 at rest, TLS in transit), HTTPS-only access to our website and admin tools, role-based access for staff and volunteers, and regular access reviews.

No system is perfectly secure. If we ever experience a breach affecting your information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities promptly.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information at the bottom of this page. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Children’s Privacy

Our services are intended for adult heads of household. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be communicated to active recipients by SMS or in person at the next distribution.
